Colosseum
Even if I myself has visited this place twice in great awe I now feel almost nauseous reading in depth about Colosseum, erected 75-80 AD by emperors Vespasian and Titus, and about what actually happened there. This tempel where the lowest behaviour in man got released.
Does a vast amount of embedded time trick my mind, will I also be amused and entertained and handed a loaf of bread at the exit?
I am reading about a depraved part of the Roman society where, maybe especially during imperial times, moral and dignity collapsed in favour of personal greed and gain when it was then considered a beacon of light, in an otherwise dark world.
Glancing through todays newspaper creates inevitable comparisons, it gives a shallow feeling.
I wonder if not some of the ancient tribes since dawn of man, despite their primitivity, were more civilized guided by the immediate surroundings of mother nature.
Maybe we should be inspired to determine civilization just from how we treat our fellow man. We all definitely need a good walk in the nature on regular basis – without our headphones. And congratulations to everyone having a dog reminding us about simplicity, love and loyalty.
